INDUSTRIAL WATER FILTRATION

FILTRATION

Industrial water filtration involves removing contaminants, suspended solids, and impurities from water used in industrial processes. Filtration helps protect equipment from scale buildup and corrosion, ensures products remain pure, and keeps operations compliant with environmental standards. Water treatment systems use physical, chemical, or biological methods to prepare water for uses such as manufacturing, cooling, and processing.

About Industrial Water Filtration:

Purpose:  Prevents clogging and damage to downstream machinery like pumps and heat exchangers by eliminating harmful substances.

Common Contaminants Removed:  Includes sediment, organic matter, dissolved solids, heavy metals, bacteria, and chlorine.

Types of Filtration:

Multimedia Filters:  Utilize three or more distinct layers (e.g., anthracite, sand, gravel) to deliver comprehensive filtration performance.

Sand Filters:  Predominantly use sand to remove larger particulate matter.

Activated Carbon Filters:  Designed for the removal of organic compounds, chlorine, and undesirable odors.

Maintenance:  These systems feature automatic backwashing mechanisms that reverse water flow to clean the filter bed and restore optimal operating pressure.

Applications:  Filtration systems are critical for pre-treatment processes, such as upstream of reverse osmosis units, and are commonly used in cooling towers, boiler feedwater applications, and industrial process water and wastewater treatment.
